White House Releases New Drug Prevention Ad

Recently, the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP), in partnership with the Ad Council and Truth Initiative, rolled out the second phase of the Administration's "The Truth About Opioids" drug prevention ads, targeted at young adults aged 18-24. The newly released ad, titled "Treatment Box," brings Americans face-to-face with opioid addiction. The ad captures 26-year-old Rebekkah's real experience as she undergoes evidence-based treatment for opioid addiction.

DEA's National Prescription Drug Take Back Day

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has scheduled another National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, to be held on Saturday October 27th, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Take Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposal, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications.  The Take Back Day provides an opportunity for Americans to prevent drug addiction and overdose deaths.

This is a great opportunity for those who missed previous events, or who have subsequently accumulated unwanted, unused prescription drugs, to dispose of those medications easily and safely.

For more information, including a Collection Site Locator, public service announcements, resources and treatment information, please visit DEA's website https://takebackday.dea.gov/.
